AN ENGLISH CIVIL WAR PERIOD CAVALRY OFFICER'S BACKSWORD

84cm single edge blade, iron basket guard of conventional form nicely chiselled with flowering plants and foliage, three hilt bars, one broken, screwed to the foliate chiselled pommel, broad thumb scroll, original twisted brass wire bound grip with woven turks heads, some bindings missing. Blade somewhat pitted and distorted towards the point.
