A 19TH CENTURY INDIAN TULWAR

75.5cm sharply curved wootz damascus blade decorated with a panel of scrolling foliage in silver at the forte, characteristic hilt with elongated langets, disc terminals to the quillons. large disc pommel with domed sunburst terminal, short spike finial, the whole decorated with scrolling vines and flowerheads in silver damascene, the underside of the pommel with a band of calligraphy, contained in its red velvet wrapped wooden scabbard. Repair to one quillon.
