A SCARCE 1906 EXPERIMENTAL PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD

88.5cm blade by MOLE, dated June 1907, crowned M9 0ver B over X, pattern marked /06 on the back edge, regulation steel bowl guard, chequered ergonomic grip, in its leather wrapped wooden scabbard. The hilt is of thinner steel than the 1908 Pattern sword and appears to have been heavily tested by sword thrusts and slashes which have pierced the guard.
